Summer evenings exude a feeling of breezy playfulness, they drink in the afternoon, turning the heat to a sublime coolness. In a show that entailed photography and paintings, plentiful conversations thrived at Art Explore on the 25th and 26th May during their exhibition ‘Summer Soirée’.
Art Explore displayed a plethora fine art photography, figurative and abstract paintings from established, mid-career to emerging artists. The French Embassy partnered with Art Explore for their annual farewell meet on May 25. With landscapes from Spiti, Kerela, and villages of Kashmir, participating photographers played with the textures, colours, and chiaroscuros.
Refurbishing the space for a confab of art collectors, Art explore curated an eclectic collection of highly sought-after artworks for May 26. The show had an interactive mix of Sunil Das, Ram Kumar, Thota Vaikuntam and Rabin Mondal as well. Infused with artworks from Nikhil Chaganlal, Nikki Anand, and Sudhir Bhagat, the collection also showed works by emerging artists such as Gaurvi Sharma, Abhijit Pathak, Sunil Yadav, Ritu Mehra and many others.
Gaurvi’s works were an inspiration from the Japanese popular culture, a stir of manga and graphic novels in a whimsical collage of everyday life. On the other hand, Sunil Yadav’s earthy tones were a graphical representation of northern rural India in mix media. Here is a glimpse of the evening.
Summer Soirée is live on the online portal www.artexplore.in. The online exhibition will continue till 30th June.
