There are two things that are unique about a photograph: one, that it reproduces to infinity that which has occurred only once existentially, and two, it is a pictorial antiphon of “look”, “see”, “here it is” which is embedded in a deictic language of a larger visual narrative.
Paris Photo brings out not only these two qualities of photographs but also takes it forward by creating stories out of these images that are a testimony to the exposition of the photographers’ minds. Cutting across geographies and cultures, the exhibition showcases a diverse selection of work that ultimately examines the human condition with all its paraphernalia.
